Mont Ste-Marie… The highest mountain between the Laurentians and the Rockies.
Mont Ste-Marie is a beautiful mountain. It is a beautiful big mountain indeed, since it has the highest vertical drop in the greater Outaouais region.
The views and panorama are outstanding from all the runs that cover the mountain. Skiers of every level can choose from a wide variety of runs ranging from easy to expert.
All kinds of special events are held there. It is a place to discover and enjoy even if you are not a ski expert; lessons are offered on site, as well as equipment rental.
For an enchanting escape, we recommend an unusual type of accommodation with the CarpeDiem Aventures team. Their philosophy is simple: allow visitors to LIVE IN THE PRESENT.
CarpeDiem’s actions are guided by values of respect, dedication, commitment and passion. Their goal is to offer a most pleasurable experience of escape and discovery while enjoying safe outdoor activities in complete peace of mind, all within the philosophy of sustainable development.
Last but not least, the Gatineau Valley is crossed by several cross-country ski or snowshoe trails that are managed by PERO (Pôle d’excellence en récréotourisme de l’Outaouais – the Center of Excellence in Recreational Tourism in Outaouais).
The PERO promotes the practice of non-motorized activities as a lever for the development of the recreational tourism potential of the Gatineau Valley. There are trails in more than ten municipalities in the region.
