  1. Users may express their disagreement with an idea, but they must remain polite and respectful at all times. It is therefore prohibited to post content or messages that are threatening, offensive, or that could expose a person or a group of people to contempt, harassment or hatred for reasons based, among other things, on language, age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, nationality, religion, skin color, lifestyle and/or mental or physical impairments.
  2. The MRC de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau reserves the right to delete postings that contain one or more of the following elements:
    1. Content or message that is contemptuous, harassing, hateful, abusive, threatening, indecent, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, racist, disgraceful or vulgar, or any other message of defamatory or violent nature;
    2. Content or message that attacks or insults a person or a group of people;
    3. Content or message containing a threat or inciting to commit an illegal act;
    4. Content or message that is posted repeatedly or that could be considered off-topic, propaganda or spam;
    5. Content or message with links to inappropriate sites (e.g., sexual, xenophobic or offensive);
    6. Pornographic, obscene or sexually explicit content or message;
    7. Content or message that does not contribute to the smooth flow of the discussion or that is considered off-topic or incomprehensible;
    8. Content or message formulated in a language other than French or English;
    9. Any attempt to mobilize a group of people around a cause or a subject other than a tourist attraction or event.
  3. Users who post content on the digital platforms of the MRC de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau must respect copyright and intellectual property rights at all times.
    1. The user must be the author and owner of the content that he or she wishes to post on the digital platforms of the MRCVG.
    2. The user must ensure to have the authorization of the persons appearing in any content that he or she wishes to post on the digital platforms of the MRCVG.
  4. The user may not, at any time, download and use content posted on the digital platforms of the MRCVG without having previously obtained authorization from the MRCVG.
  5. Usurpation of a person’s identity is considered a serious offense and will not be tolerated at any time, and neither will the use of fake accounts. 
  6. The excessive use of capital letters or a sequence of special characters (e.g. !!!###**%%!!!) is not allowed, as this is perceived as shouting and could be interpreted to be aggressive.
  7. The MRC de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau is at no time responsible for content or messages posted on its digital platforms by a third party, unless that content is the result of a collaboration between the said third party and the MRCVG.
  8. Users must not use an old message published by the MRC de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau and distort its context or apply it to current or future situations without first validating the information.
  9. Some employees of the MRC de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau have their own social media accounts. The content, comments or points of view that they post on their personal accounts do not necessarily represent the official position of the MRC de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau.

Users who do not respect the rules of use and politeness listed in this netiquette could see their postings or messages deleted without notice and their access to the digital platforms of the MRCVG suspended without prior warning.This netiquette does not guarantee the absence of errors or omissions; it is subject to change at any time, without notice.
