Touristic Information

The MRC de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau operates a growing network of tourist reception sites that respect all the criteria established by the Department of Tourism (Tourisme Québec) in its Policy relating to tourist reception and information site. The criteria include the provision of services, operating standards as well as criteria relating to facilities, human resources and training.

There are 4 tourist reception centers in the MRC de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau. They are located in Aumond, Gracefield, Grand-Remous and Maniwaki.

Categories of reception centers

The MRC de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau operates 3 categories of reception centers:

The offices of Aumond and Grand-Remous are accredited as “Tourist Welcome Offices” (Bureau d’accueil touristique – BAT). Their focus is on local information, and the services offered mainly cover the territory of the MRC;

The Maniwaki office is known as “Tourist Information Office” (Bureau d’information touristique – BIT), because it provides more detailed information on the administrative region and additional information on bordering regions;

The Gracefield office is a satellite of the Maniwaki reception office.
