At the time, its 220 kV transmission line stretching over 440 km to Toronto was considered a major technological breakthrough.<br \/>\nBy following Paugan Road, visitors arrive at the station, where it is possible to drive across the dam and enjoy panoramic views of the <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rivi%C3%A8re_Gatineau\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gatineau River<\/a>, both north and south. The 35-metre-high waterfalls are truly impressive.<br \/>\nOn the central island, remnants of an old timber slide can still be seen\u2014a testament to the region\u2019s forestry past.
